JIAO GU LAN

Jiao Gu Lan (five leaf Gynostemma), one of the most popular herbs in Asia, has a thin stem and serrated tear-shaped green leaves. Rich in amino acids, vitamins and minerals including calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium and zinc. Used in traditional Chinese medicine to treat numerous conditions for more than 1,000 years. Around the world it is known as ‘Miracle Herb’, ‘Good News Herb’, ‘Green Gold’, ‘Goddess of Health’, ‘Antidote for a Hundred Illnesses’, ‘Longevity Herb’ and ‘Prime Ginseng’. The herb produces liquor with a mild pleasant flavour, sweet and refreshing to taste.

It is recommended not to drink Jiao Gu Lan during pregnancy or when breast feeding.

Storage  - store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place out of direct sunlight
Infusion - the leaves need to be infused at around 80 to 90°C for 4 to 5 minutes
